I know February isn’t the longest month. Quite the opposite, yes. But man, it can feel long sometimes…especially once Valentine’s Day is over for this Valentine’s Day loving girl. The snow days, the very limited sun shine. I’m officially being diligent about taking my vitamin D supplement. I’m pretty inconsistent, at best, with supplements. Until now.
We’re continuing to LOVE our Peloton. Mark and I are neck-and-neck with our number of rides but he continues to blow my outputs out of the water. He totally called me out on our last podcast. I mean, I’m trying really hard, but his outputs are still 30% or so higher!!! Guess my hubby is just in EXCELLENT physical condition. And it definitely gives me something to compete against. Although, I’m perfectly happy competing with myself for PRs at this time.
Since it’s now Sunday and not Friday when I first plopped down to type, the weekend has come and gone. We did lots of fun stuff with my folks who were in visiting. The Children’s Museum, the carousel, and a brewery, of course. Mark surprised the girls with shamrock sunglasses, a green tulle skirt, and a light up shamrock necklace as they ran laps around the brewery. I will add that our kids were there in addition to many others and the place doubles as an indoor playground before 7pm on weekend evenings. I’d like to just have it be known that I love everything about all of this. Everyone wins!
What else in life? Hmmm.
We’re gearing up for Hawaii. For the first time ever, I may start packing in advance. Once we have all of our excursions planned out, I’ll have a better idea of what all I should take. If you have any Maui suggestions, feel free to throw them my way. Thank you in advance!
Shea continues to grow into quite a little lady. Just today she said, “Dad, please come move the board that fell so Harlie can have a path to get back in the house.” She’s 4. I just can’t. It’s too cute. I haven’t told her she’s going to a birthday party next Saturday because I don’t want to hear about it NONSTOP for the next 6 days. She has recently started dressing herself without assistance and has also learned that she loves the iPad. *eyeroll* I think all kids would watch a tablet for hours on end and I wish we’d have held off a bit longer before introducing it to her…but when we’re desperate, it’s a good option.
Piper’s language is exploding. She’s a total goof and makes everything into an activity worthy of laughter. She can’t make it til noon without requesting her nap and by the time she’s in her crib, she’ll spend the next 1-2 hours jabbering away until she finally passes out. This then pushes the time she falls asleep WAY back. Last night was 10pm. Needless to say, at 2 1/2, she’s at that stage where the nap is both necessary, but interferes big time with evening sleep. I recall this with Shea, as well. Shea was done with naps completely at age 3 1/2 so we’ll see what the coming months bring. Maybe by fall we could do the zoo without a total meltdown come 3pm and they can both cat nap on the 45 minute drive home? This mom is dreaming big, people!
Gina and I are FINALLY podcasting without issue. Thanks for reading along with our ongoing struggles and if you’ve been tuning into the podcast – LOVE YOU TO PIECES! We’re having so much fun. Everyone enjoyed the Men Tell All episode so we’re definitely going to incorporate more of the men in the future.
Lunches and laundry are calling me. Those dirty little words. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Be well,
