About Lauren:
As far as Olympic athletes go, you could say that Lauren Gibbs is an overnight sensation. She’s competing in the two-man women’s bobsled in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea a mere four years after she got involved in the sport.
Lauren’s no stranger to athletics, having played soccer as a kid and going on to play volleyball at Brown University. But after college, that ended and Lauren left athletics to join the corporate world, working in sales.
It wasn’t until she was 30 years old that a friend prompted her to try out for an Olympic combine in Denver. What happened after that was nothing short of inspirational. Lauren quit her safe and comfortable corporate job for a shot at making it to the Olympics in the sport of bobsled.
After much international success as the brakeman in the two-man bobsled event, she was selected to represent Team USA in the 2018 Winter Olympics. Lauren competes with her driver Elana Meyers Taylor on February 20 and 21.
